What is it, then?
Well... it is an e-chronicle of my recent Road Trip to eastern Washington's high desert. This blog format is a convenient way to share photos & stories. But unlike most travel blogs, including my own, this chronicle is not a vehicle for daily news reports. Instead, you get all the content right here, right now. No updates.
About that content...
It's not strictly organized according to my day-to-day reporting. In fact, there is some chronological sequence. But mostly there is thematic sequencing. What you'll find here is more like a completed scrapbook than a daily diary.
About my travels...
• The Centennial Trail -- For years I've wanted to bike this paved route that follows the Spokane River for nearly 40 miles from the little town of Nine Mile Falls, Washington all the way to the Idaho state line. Four days in late July was the perfect time to do it... I could escape my COVID-19 lockdown in Tacoma, yet be properly socially distanced on a solo bike ride.
But there was more to my travels than biking...
• Camping -- Washington's famous Riverside State Park has campsites right along the Spokane River, and right along the path of the Centennial Trail.
• Road Trip -- I love the Freedom of the open road. Time. Space. Imagination. Discovery.
• Photography -- Over the years, photography has become more and more integral to my travel experience. My favorite photos are abstracts. I also enjoy capturing Post Card shots of the natural world. Occasionally, I like photographing interesting elements in the urban landscape.
And more rarely? I amuse myself with photos of bizarre 'Roadside Attractions.'
Examples of all these sorts of photos are contained in the e-pages that follow.
• Mindful Meandering -- Travel is illuminating, enriching. Solo travel can be especially so. A continuous present of mindful moments. No distractions; only engagement.
